President Bush and The Babe, 1948

Well before he became a prominent political figure, Geroge Bush Sr.  was a baseball star at Yale, and in 1948 he was the team's captain. It was with that status that he met Babe Ruth for an on-field ceremony on June 5, when Ruth presented Bush with the manuscript for "The Babe Ruth Story" as a donation to the Yale Library. Offered here is a classic 16x10 photo from that iconic moment signed by President Bush in bold black ink.
